Vivienne (Viv) Nguyen AM is a Vietnamese-Australian community leader and business executive, recognized for her advocacy for multiculturalism and diversity. Born in Vietnam in 1971, she arrived in Australia as a refugee in 1983. She earned a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne in 1992 and a Master of Applied Finance in 2001. Viv has held senior roles at AMP, ANZ Banking Group, and AustChoice Financial Services. She currently serves as Chairperson of the Victorian Multicultural Commission, a position she has held since 2019. Her leadership was instrumental during the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring effective communication between government and multicultural communities. Viv has been recognised with several honours, including induction into the Victorian Honour Roll in 2002, the Australian Centenary Medal in 2003 and a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 2021, for her significant service to Victoria鈥檚 multicultural community.
